Twentieth Century Fox Television is getting its geek on.

The studio has decided to dramatically expand its presence at Comic-Con, bringing a whopping nine properties to next month’s annual fan festival in San Diego.

In addition, for the first time, the TV powerhouse will have its own booth on the floor of the San Diego Convention Center, taking over the space previously used by sister film company Fox Atomic.

The expansion by 20th is the latest example of TV studios invading Comic-Con, which is now considered a must-attend for marketing executives looking to hype shows with even the slightest geek appeal. Among TV studios, Warner Bros. Television has long been the 800-pound gorilla of Comic-Con, and it’s expected to have a massive presence at this year’s convention, with seven shows and a Warner Bros. corporate booth.

But 20th has upped the ante by having its stars appear on nine panels. In addition, while no-brainers such as Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse” will be at Comic-Con for 20th, the studio is bringing down less obvious choices such as “Prison Break” and “Bones.”

After taking five shows to the convention last summer, “We realized the tremendous impact you can have with Comic-Con,” said 20th Century Fox TV Chairman Gary Newman. “The fanatics who come to an event like this really propel your awareness and hopefully boost the have-to-have qualities in these properties. They become ‘must-see,’ and it starts with word of mouth.”

Mr. Newman said he learned a hard lesson last year when the 20th-produced NBC drama “Journeyman” — which had elements of time travel — failed to break through with a mass audience. The fact that the show had no major presence at Comic-Con didn’t help.

“NBC took care of the shows they owned, like ‘Heroes’ and ‘Bionic Woman,’” Mr. Newman said. “We realized that if we’re going to use Comic-Con to benefit our business, it was going to have to be a studio” initiative.

Joining “Dollhouse,” “Prison Break” and “Bones” in the 20th contingent will be “24,” “Life on Mars” and animated half-hours “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” “American Dad” and “Futurama.” Cast members and writers from most of the shows will sign autographs at the studio’s 600-square-foot booth.

The studio also will be selling original art from its animated series and giving away a premium item (details are still under wraps).

Mr. Newman said Comic-Con represents a “big financial investment” for 20th, but one that is needed in an age in which TV studios must have a more intimate relationship with viewers.

Rather than just distributing shows to networks, “Our customers and clients have become the consumers themselves, as opposed to the networks or the trade press,” he said. “They’re the ones going to iTunes, buying the DVDs, streaming on Hulu or buying the T-shirts. Any opportunity to build the relationship with the consumer, we take.”

As for specific 20th talent planning to attend Comic-Con, numerous writers and producers are expected, including:

— Kiefer Sutherland and Carlos Bernard will be on hand for “24.”

— Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green and Alec Sulkin will represent “Family Guy” and “American Dad.”

— Eliza Dushku will hype “Dollhouse,” along with Mr. Whedon.

— Most of the “Bones” cast, including stars Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz, will attend.

— From “The Simpsons” and “Futurama,” look for Matt Groening, Al Jean, David X. Cohen, Katey Sagal and Billy West.

— Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Sarah Wayne Callies will bang the drum for “Prison Break.”

NO WENTWORTH!! Everyone’s upset, and Dominic seems a little hurt that they are upset!!

After the sneak peek clip everyone came on stage.

Sarah Wayne Callies thanks the audience for their fan mail and says she’s gotten a ton of origami swans. Meanwhile Dominic Purcell takes pictures of the audience!! Sarah says that Sara is coming back a very different person. She says that she sees it in friends of hers that are coming back from the war, and it’s an interesting time to relate to this…

Matt Olmstead adds to this, saying that they couldn’t give Sarah a role during Season 3 because she’d just be tied to a chair. “There are no physical barriers, but there are barriers,” he says in regards to their characters.

We are told that, this season Michael will be affected by stress in a way nobody can predict.

Sarah talks about her “I think in the beginning of the series Sara was an advocate on behalf of men on death role. She was profoundly influenced by Gandhi. And I think now there’s a very small part of her that thinks that it’s all out the window. That it’s easier to be motivated by rage and hatred and revenge. And if it were not for Michael she would not bother looking beyond that.” She says Sara needs to look inside herself. And where are the characters going? To the ultimate extreme and they all know they can die. She says a small part of Sara wants to give into that, and throw herself into the bullets - rather than look at herself in the mirror at the end of the day and wonder who she is.

Sucre will be back, along with Mahone and Bellick - which we already knew!!

A fan asks what they do behind the scenes, do they have fun, and will we ever see bloopers?!? “We’ve been doing this for four years,” Dominic says. “And it comes to the place where you’ve got to crack jokes!” He says he’s serious about what he does, but he also realizes the absurdity about it. “We’ve all got a really good vibe,” he says. Dominic also gives a nod to the writers. “The writers on this show allow the actors to be spontaneous and give us permission to play with their words. That is unique and gives us a good deal of comfort.”

Sarah agrees. “I think there’s also points when you’ve been working for 16 hours and sprinting and running, and you hit a certain point where it’s all funny. And then you just need to go home!”

Dominic talks about Wentworth and says they work well together. “A relationship for me and Went is all about friendship. Working with Went has been one of the easiest things of my professional career.”

One of the fans wishes Sarah’s daughter a happy birthday (on Monday). Sarah thanks her and then talks about being on network television every week. She says it’s great for her own mom to watch her! Although not the drowning or the head in the box scene. “I may get back to theater, sooner rather than later,” she says. Not sure what that means!!

Another fan asks about a clip at the end of the Season 2 finale with what looked like an animal lab. Dominic and Sarah say they want to know too! Matt says that it was scripted to be Padman putting on a mask and walking into an animal testing facility - just to add in some intrigue. The writers argued about it and decided to cut out right before he walked in. It may come into Season 4, it may not…

That’s it guys! Dominic bolted immediately. I tried to get an autograph from Sarah but the staff shoved us away and she left. Dominic then got swarmed offstage as everyone exited. I do have to say, he seemed VERY grumpy!! I don’t know what was up, but this panel didn’t have the energy that the one before it did (24). Still, I was thrilled to be here!! Hopefully I can an interview or set visit soon. Maybe we can start rallying together to get one!

Tout le monde etait décu, et Dominic semble un peu blessé par leur réaction !!

Apres un rapide résumé video , tout le monde est venu sur scéne.

SWC remercie tout le public pour le courier de fan et elle ajoute qu'elle a reçu une tonne de Cygne en Origami. Pendant ce temps, Dominic Purcell prend des photos du public!! Sarah dit que son personnage Sara est de retour mais qu'elle est une personne trés différente. Elle dit qu'elle l'a comparé à une amie à elle qui sors juste d'un conflit, et c'est un moment interessant pour le relier à ça...

Matt Olmstead en rajoute, en disant qu'ils ne pouvaient pas donner de rôle à Sarah durant la 3eme saison, car elle aurait juste était attaché à une chaise. "Il n'y a aucune barriére physique, mais il y a des obstacles", en ce qui concerne leurs personages.

Nous avions dit que, cette saison Michael serai affecté par le stress dans des proportions, que personne ne peut prédire.

Sarah parle d'elle "Je pense qu'au debut de la serie, Sara était une militante au nom du comdané à mort. Elle etait profondément influencé par Gandhi. Et je pense maintenant, qu'il y a une toute petite partie d'elle qui pense que tout est fichu. Il est plus facile d'être motivé par la rage, la haine et la veangence. Et si ce n'était pas pour Michael, elle ne s'embeterait pas avec tout ça." Elle dit aussi que Sara a besoin de regarder au fond d'elle même.
Et où les personages vont ? Vers l'extreme et ils savent tous qu'ils peuvent mourir. Elle dit qu'une petite partie de Sara veut faire partie de ça, et se jeter dans les flammes, plutôt que de se regarder dans le miroir à al fin de la journée et se demander qui elle est.

Un Fan demande ce qu'ils font hors scénes, est ce qu'ils s'amusent, et si nous verrons un jour leurs bétises ?? " Nous faisons ça depuis 4 ans" Dit Dominic.
"Et le moment est venu de trouver d'autres astuces!" Il dit qu'il est serieux dans ce qu'il fait, mais il realise aussi l'absurdité de la chose. "Nous avons tous une bonne entente", dit-il. Dominic fait un signe de la tête aux scenaristes. " Les scénaristes dans cette serie permettent aux acteurs d'être spontanés et nous autorisent à jouer avec nos mots. C'est unique et cela nous donnent la possibilité d'être plus à l'aise!"

Sarah confirme. "Je pense qu'il y a aussi un moment quand vous avez travaillé 16heures, sprinter et couru, et vous arrivez à un certain point ou c'est amusant. Et ensuite vous avez juste besoin de rentrer à la maison!"

Dominic parle à propos de Wentworth et dit qu'ils travaillent bien ensemble.
"Une relation pour moi et Went concerne l'amitié. Travailler avec Went a été une des choses les plus faciles de toute ma cariére professionelle."

Une des fans à souhaité un bon anniversaire à la fille de Sarah (Lundi). Sarah la remercie et parle ensuite du fait d'être au programme télévisé toutes les semaines. Elle dit que c'est super pour sa propre mére de la voir! Excepté les scénes de la noyade et la tête dans la boite. " Je pourrait bien retourné au cinéma, plus tôt que prévu", dit-elle. Pas sure de ce que cela veux dire!!!!

Un autre des Fans demande à propos d'une video à la fin de la saison 2 ou il apparait un genre de labo pour animaux. Dominic et Sarah disent qu'ils veulent aussi savoir!! Matt dit que le script était que Padman porte un masque et introduise une experimentation complexe sur des animaux- Juste pour ajouter un peu d'intrigue. Les scenaristes ont discuté de ce sujet et ont decidé de couper avant qu'il n'entre à l'interieur. Cela pourrait venir dans la Saison 4, peut-être pas...

C'est tout les mecs! Dominic s'est enfermé immediatement. J'ai essayé d'avoir un autographe de Sarah mais l'equipe nous à repousser plus loin et elle est parti. Dominic a alors été attendu dans les coulisses vu que tout le monde était sorti. Je dois dire qu'il semblait TRES grincheux !!! Je ne sais pas ce qu"il s'est passé, mais ces invités n'avaient pas l'nergie que celui qui précédé avait. (24) Toujours est il que j'étais ravie d'y être!!!! Heureusement je (manque un mot lol) un interview ou une visite du tournage bientot. Peut être que nous pouvons commencer à nous allier pour en obtenir un !

Fox’s “Prison Break” presented fans with anything but an interesting panel this Friday at Comic Con.

You would think that a shortened post-scribe strike third season, that was barely lukewarm, would instill some form of humility into the so-called stars of “Prison Break.”

Well that was not the case with actor Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) at Friday’s Comic Con panel. Purcell paid no attention to “Prison Break” fans for the first twenty minutes of the panel. Instead, Purcell, who has been deemed a less than mediocre actor by most, chose to spend his time fiddling with his Crackberry like an adolescent suffering from A.D.D.

Pathetic.

At one point Purcell zoned out when a fan asked a question. Co-star Sarah Wayne Callies, who will return in season 4 as the not-so-dead Dr. Sara Tancredi, simply gave Purcell a condescending look.

Shameful.

Purcell’s unabashed arrogance was only topped off by his poor sense of humor. Dominic, who couldn’t spare his loyal fans five minutes of undivided attention, pompously said, “These things (Crackberry/Blackberry) are addictive.”

Not funny.

If that’s not enough. One fan asked about the sweat factor on Prison Break. To which, Purcell responded, “Chicks dig it.”

Nail in the coffin, this is one actor who shouldn’t open his mouth without a script in front of him.

Maybe Purcell’s unwarranted dismissal of fans was due to Prison Break coming to a close with season 4. Or maybe Purcell just doesn’t care a rat’s ass about anyone but himself. In either case, it was a poor move to not give Purcell any home-training before allowing him to open his mouth in public. Despite being thrust into the limelight after a few successful seasons on “Prison Break,” Purcell remains a crude schoolboy with much to learn in the art of returning to fans the same respect they unquestioningly give him.

Whatever the case maybe for Purcell’s tomfoolery, his time in the spotlight will be extinguished soon enough. After season 4 of “Prison Break” don’t hold your breath expecting this actor to return to the screen any time soon.

The Comic Con panel easily would have been better served by having Robert Knepper (Theodore ‘T-Bag’ Bagwell) present.

Oh, and if you were wondering where Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) was in this whole panel debacle, the actor just didn’t show.

“Prison Break” returns with season 4 later this year, but expect the fan base to drop off with this callous neglect for the fans by Prison Break stars.

On pourrait penser qu’une saison trois écourtée pour cause de grève des scribes, saison à peine tiède, insufflerait quelque sorte d’humilité chez les soit-disant stars de Prison Break.

Et bien, ce n’était pas le cas pour l’acteur Dominic Purcell (Lincoln Burrows) à la table ronde du Comic Con vendredi. Purcell n’a prêté aucune attention aux fans de Prison Break pendant les vingt premières minutes de la table ronde. Au contraire, Purcell, qui a été jugé comme étant un acteur moins que médiocre par la plupart des gens, a choisi de passer le temps à jouer avec son Crackberry comme un adolescent souffrant de troubles déficitaires de l'attention.

Lamentable.

A un moment donné Purcell n’a pas remarqué quand un fan a posé une question. Sarah Wayne Callies, qui reviendra dans la saison 4 comme le Dr. Sara Tancredi pas-si-morte-que-ça, a simplement jeté un regard condescendant sur Purcell.

Honteux.

L’arrogance éhontée de Purcell a été seulement surpassée par son manque d’humour. Dominic, qui n’a pas offert à ses fans plus de cinq minutes de complète attention, a dit pompeusement « ces trucs (Crackberry/Blackberry) sont une drogue. »

Pas drôle.

Comme si ça ne suffisait pas. Un fan a posé un question sur le facteur sueur dans Prison Break. Ce à quoi Purcell a répondu, « les nanas aiment ça. »

Le coup de grâce, voici un acteur qui ne devrait pas ouvrir la bouche sans un script devant lui.

Peut être que le refus injustifié des fans de la part de Purcell était du au fait que Prison Break arrive à sa fin avec la quatrième saison. Ou peut être que Purcell ne se soucie de rien et de personne que de lui même. Dans l’un ou l’autre cas, cela a été une mauvaise manœuvre que de ne pas lui donner quelque directive avant qu’il n’ouvre sa bouche en public. Malgré avoir été propulsé sous les feux de la rampe grâce à quelques saisons à succès de Prison Break, Purcell reste un écolier mal dégrossi qui a encore beaucoup a apprendre dans l’art de rendre aux fans le même respect qu’ils lui donnent sans concession.

Quelque soit la raison pour la mauvaise conduite de Purcell, son heure sous les réflecteurs va se terminer sous peu. Après la saison 4 de Prison Break ne retenez pas votre souffle en attendant le retour de cet acteur sur l’écran d’ici peu.

La table ronde du Comic Con aurait été plus facilement mieux servie avec la présence de Robert Knepper (Theodore ‘T-Bag’ Bagwell).

Oh, et si vous vous demandiez où Wentworth Miller (Michael Scofield) était pendant toute cette débâcle, l’acteur ne s’est tout simplement pas présenté.

Prison Break revient avec la saison 4 plus tard cette année, mais attendez vous à ce que les fans diminuent à cause de cette négligence cruelle des fans de la part des stars de Prison Break.
